Ever since Palak Tiwari and Ibrahim Ali Khan were spotted together, everyone wants to know more about her dating life. But did you know that Palak’s mom Shweta Tiwari tried her best to make sure that her daughter avoids dating for the longest time. In fact, mama bear even had a few hacks for it!
In a recent interview, Palak opened up on how her mom tried to make her look unattractive so that she wouldn’t date. The Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan star said, “My teen years were pretty bad and my mom is traumatized by them. One of the biggest problems I had was that I used to lie a lot and people used to catch me. My mom used to say ‘Why do you even bother to lie? You get caught in two hours.’ I think I had a boyfriend, I was 15 or 16 years, like when you have a boyfriend in school.“
That’s not all! Shweta even threatened Palak that she will send her to live in a village if she dated in school. “The funny part was that my mom used to say, main tujhe gao bhej dungi, main tera baal katwa dungi (I will send you to a village, I will chop your hair),” said Palak.
Phew, I thought my mom was strict in school, but Shweta was no different. I think all moms have their warden mode on when it comes to their teenage daughters. My sympathies are with you Palak!
Luckily, it appears that Shweta has let go of some of the restrictions ‘coz I often spot Palak out and about. Perhaps, the moment Palak turned to showbiz, Shweta switched from mom mode to friend mode.
IMO, the equation between Palak and Shweta is like every desi mom-daughter relationship. Kaafi relatable!
