Shraddha Kapoor’s skincare know-how is impressive. A fan of DIYs, the 36-year-old glows, and how. I recently stumbled upon one of her recipes, put it to the test, and realised something. This DIY works within minutes, and I’m not even exaggerating. But the reason it does is because of one of its ingredients. Let’s find out what it is.
What Shraddha’s DIY Contains…
Shraddha’s DIY is composed of three ingredients: banana, honey, and papaya! This, she says, is gentle on the skin and makes her face feel soft. And much of it is thanks to papaya’s participation in the mask. Here’s what papayas do for the skin.
They’re Hydrating
Because papayas contain vitamins C and E, they can hydrate and soothe flaky, dry skin and induce a glow on the face. This leaves your skin supple and soft.
They Can Treat Acne
Thanks to papain and chymopapain enzymes in papayas, papayas can gently cleanse and exfoliate the skin and unclog your pores of oil and build-up; thus preventing future flare-ups and breakouts. They can counter inflammation and soothe symptoms of acne naturally.
They Can Treat Skin Conditions
Because they cleanse and exfoliate, they help newer, healthier cells resurface. This means that papayas can soothe inflammatory conditions like eczema and psoriasis naturally.
They’re Anti-Aging
Papaya’s composition of Vitamin C and lycopene means that it can fight off free radicals that are notorious fo rpremature ageing and damaging your DNA. Papain, present in the fruit can even stimulate the production of collagen for healthier, youthful-looking skin.
They Can Brighten Skin
Papayas can counter pigmentation, tanning, and spots and brighten and lighten the skin to an extent. This is because it contains vitamins A and C.
If you’re a little lazy but would like to redeem all of these benefits, here are some papaya-infused products to pamper your skin with:
See? Papaya is a proactive part of the DIY, and I know I’m adding a little bit of it in all of my concoctions.
