Once upon a time, there was a sweet Punjabi kudi named Shehnaaz Gill. She arrived in the magical land of Bigg Boss 13 and instantly she was smitten by a handsome man named Sidharth Shukla. She fell for him and lived happily ever after…If only we could rewrite destiny like this!
Earlier this year, the entire entertainment industry was left in shock when telly star Sidharth passed away at his Mumbai home. Since then, his rumoured girlfriend Shehnaaz has kept her distance from the limelight. Recently, she made her way to the promotions of her upcoming film Honsla Rakh.
During a public interaction, she was asked if she would like to say ‘honsla rakh’ (Have faith) to anyone in her life. Shehnaaz replied, “Khud ko (To myself)”
While our heart breaks for the actress, it is also so empowering to see her lifting herself up. Everyone knows Sidharth and Shehnaaz were two halves of a whole and now the latter is facing the world alone.
The two captured the imagination of millions with their chemistry in Bigg Boss 13. Though they never admitted that they are in a relationship, Shehnaaz often spoke about her love for the Balika Vadhu actor.
She once famously said, “I think boyfriend wala har tarah ka rishta nahi hota. Mujhe lagta hai uss sey zyada interesting hai ke emotionally tumhe kaun support kar raha hai. Boyfriend toh chhodkar chale jaate hai. Yeh nahi chalta. But yeh jo mera rishta hai na, who kabhi nahi tootega (I feel, it’s better to have an emotional relationship with someone. Boyfriends can leave. It isn’t long-lasting. But my relationship is forever.)”
Coming back to the film Honsla Rakh, Shehnaaz will be seen sharing the screen with Diljit Dosanjh and Sonam Bajwa.
In a previous interview, Diljit praised Shehnaaz for her hard work during the shoot. She said, “Shehnaaz has worked really hard for the film because there are many layers of her in it. I remember that when we were casting her, everybody was doubting whether she will be able to (play) the role as she has her own nature and charm. So, she has worked really hard and the audience will get to see a full package of her including humour, drama and emotions”
