Shanaya Kapoor’s DIYs Are Incomplete Without This Exotic Ingredient

Shanaya Kapoor is stunning; and I’m talking au naturel, makeup-free selfies. The B-Town girl’s glow is always on, and I’ve been trying to do the math. Because I need to know the secret behind her fresh-faced, dewy-dumpling glow.

I did some research and finally found it. The key to her glazed, creaseless complexion. Kapoor relies on something exotic (and, hence, a tad expensive) for her DIYs; but it’s so worth it. You’ve got to check it out.

Avocados! The bland, rather unassuming fruit that’s served to us at hotels for breakfast. They’re pretty perfect for DIYs, and Shanaya knows it. She relies on avocados for her skin and hair, and I think I know why.

For The Hair

Avocados are rich in biotin; a vitamin that promotes the growth of your hair. That’s why they’re such a sought-after fruit in DIYs.

They contain potassium and magnesium as well. Both of these can lock in moisture and reinstate the lustre and texture of the mane. The potassium, along with the fruit’s composition of amino acids, can even deep condition and hydrate dry, coarse hair from the inside out. This allows it to soothe and calm irritation and inflammation in the scalp too. The better the health of your scalp, the better the growth.

Because avocados are antioxidant-rich, they can fight free-radical damage caused by stress, pollution, sunlight, and other factors. This can delay premature greying and other signs of ageing.

Recipe: For smooth, shiny hair, mix one avocado with two or three tablespoons of Coconut Oil. Begin by massaging your scalp before working your way down to the strands.

For The Skin

Just like for the hair, avocados can relieve dryness; even helping with conditions like psoriasis and eczema to quite an extent. The abundance of Vitamin E in the fruit conditions and soothes the skin and reduces all kinds of inflammation. This includes redness-associated conditions like acne and rosacea.

It can even fight acne because of its antibacterial properties. The antioxidants in the fruit can prevent free-radical damage on the skin too. Avocados can even stimulate the production of collagen for firm, plump skin.

And, yes, it’s an excellent moisturiser because of its composition of both vitamins and minerals. Your skin will feel soft and supple post-application for sure.

Recipe: For hydrated, healthy skin, mix 1/4 avocado with one tablespoon of honey. Apply it to your face for about 20 minutes before washing it off gently.

Thanks, Shanaya! These results are an undeniable great return on my investment, then. BRB. Off to buy some avocados.
