If you are a Naagin fan, you would know that no one pulls off the supernatural fantasy genre better than Shalin Bhanot. After Bigg Boss 16, he is all set to make his way back to TV with his new show—Bekaboo.
The trailer dropped recently and I can’t get over how the show is inspired by Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s Brahmāstra. Don’t believe me? I have the receipts!
Right from the word go, everything in the Bekaboo universe appears to be consumed with fire. Very Brahmāstra-like hainaa?
Not just that, there is a silhouette in the show that is holding a trishul. This instantly reminded me of Shah Rukh Khan’s part in Ranbir Kapoor’s film.
The demons in Bekaboo universe have the same appearance as the ones in Brahmāstra. No cap!
Another thing that got my attention was that Shalin’s look appears to be inspired by Mouni Roy’s demonic look in Brahmāstra. Demon gang united!
It might be a little early to say how much inspiration Bekaboo has taken by Brahmāstra, but I think there is some connection. As Shiva would say—inspiration se Shalin ka purana rishta hai!
Everything You Need To Know About Bekaboo
Bekaboo is a fantasy revenge drama set in the centuries-old war between fairies (pari) and demons (rakshas). As per the trailer, Shalin will be seen as a raakshak and Eisha Singh will be prototyping a pari. It is supposed to be an ‘impossible love story’ between two star-crossed lovers from different universes.
I kinda want to choose violence today and say Bekaboo’s VFX appears to be better than Brahmāstra. I am dying to catch the first episode of the show!
