We’re not sure if it’s the world-renowned tennis player or a ballerina who just won the match at the 2018 US Open, but we sure do know that Serena Williams is the coolest woman alive. Serena Williams made headlines not for winning the first round match, ‘coz that’s new to no one, but for wearing a savage outfit on the court.
Williams wore a black tutu skirt and black top to the match and we can’t believe our eyes.
Serena paired her tulle skirt with a one-shoulder top and black stockings. She posted this picture on her ‘gram thanking the man behind her Internet-breaking outfit, Off-White founder, Virgil Abloh. She rocked the outfit so hard that fans couldn’t help but come out and appreciate her badassery and panache.

But there’s a reason why, of all her outfits, this one is the most talked about. Remember her bodysuit from the 2018 French Open?
Last week, the French Tennis Federation banned Serena from wearing her Black Panther-inspired catsuit for not being “conservative” enough. Next day, the tennis champion stepped out in this Nike x Off-White ensemble, and pulled it off effortlessly. I might as well add that the catsuit wasn’t just a fashion statement but an outfit that Williams wore due to legit health and safety concerns. Considering she’s just given birth, the suit helped in preventing blood clots.
Nonetheless, Williams stylishly reminded us not to let anyone tell us what to be, what to wear, and what to look like. Guess the saying now goes, a tutu a day keeps the haters away!
