Saif Ali Khan’s daughter Sara Ali Khan is two movies old in the industry but she is already quite the sensation on social media. Her screen presence, witty comebacks in interviews and glamourous public appearances have made her a fan favourite.
Whether it’s about her crush on Kartik Aaryan, parents’ divorce or her bond with stepmom Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sara has never dodged questions directed at her at various media interactions.
Recently, in an interview with a magazine, Sara made some revelations about her bond with Bebo. The Kedarnath actress said, “I do think that Kareena is my friend, but more than that, she is my father’s wife. I respect her and realise that she makes my father happy. We belong to the same profession, and have a similar world, thus, our conversations include that as well.”
The actress has made it pretty clear in the past that she adores Kareena and has always been inspired by her, especially her character ‘Poo’ in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. Sara was so smitten with Bebo that she came to meet her on the sets of the movie donning her You Are My Sonia look. Little did she know that years later, she would be welcoming Kareena in her family.
Earlier in an interview with a magazine, she spoke candidly about her relationship with Kareena and had the nicest thing to say about her. “I’ve been an avid Kareena Kapoor fan. So even today there’s an element of surprise that Poo from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham is my stepmother. People say I willed it to happen. I must have. After Sridevi, I’m a Kareena Kapoor fan.”
She further revealed that there is no awkwardness in the family and she’s satisfied with any sort of arrangement as long as it keeps her father happy. “As far as our personal equation is concerned, I was clear from the beginning that anyone who makes my father happy, not specifically Kareena, makes me happy. Anyone he loves, I love. I don’t need to know who that person is. It’s about my father. Having said that, Kareena and I became friends and have a healthy equation…we’ve conducted ourselves with dignity.”
In the same interview, she gave credit to her mother Amrita Singh for making everything so amicable. The Simmba actress said, “It’s also easy for me to love and accept Kareena because I have a mom, who makes me feel everything’s fine. She got me ready for my father’s wedding with Kareena. So when you have a mother saying, ‘Yeh earrings mat peheno, doosri chandbali peheno‘ and if that’s the vibe at home, then you’re comfortable enough to take anything on.”
On the work front, Sara is shooting for David Dhawan’s Coolie No. 1 reboot that stars Varun Dhawan and Rajat Rawail.
