Sanjivani: A Medical Boon, the iconic TV show from the early 2000s is all set to get a remake! After running successfully from 2002 to 2005, the show is all set to bring back the magic with the lead couple from Ishqbaaz. Nakuul Mehta and Surbhi Chandna, the leading actors are being roped in to play the roles of Dr. Rahul and Dr. Juhi. While the producers haven’t made an announcement about the cast yet, sources have confirmed to a leading newspaper that the two will be seen on the show. Looks like the success of Kasautii Zindagii Kay is catching up in the industry.
The producer Siddharth P Malhotra has shed some light on when we should be expecting the TV show. “Yes, I’m working on the new show but it all depends on the channel. I am hoping to sign the contract soon. Sanjivani is the show that made me and it’s the first show for which I was credited as creator,” he stated to a leading newspaper. Actor Namit Khanna from Yeh Pyar Nahi Toh Kya Hai is also rumoured to play one of the four lead characters on the show. Gurdeep Kohli and Mohnish Behl, who played prominent characters in the original will also be seen on the reboot of the show!
“The show will go on air post the IPL. There have been a lot of meetings with the production house to discuss details of the new show and the channel has liked the idea. This one will be made on a big budget and its tone will be like the earlier two shows,” Siddharth added.
Does this mean we can expect a new spin-off of Dill Mill Gayye aswell? The sequel of Sanjivani, Dill Mill Gayyee featured some of the biggest faces in the TV industry including Karan Singh Grover, Jennifer Winget, Drashti Dhami, Barun Sobti and Karan Wahi.
We can’t wait to see what they have in store for the reboot. We are secretly vying for guest appearances by the OG Dr. Riddhima and Dr. Armaan!
