Indian tennis star Sania Mirza and Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik have welcomed a baby boy. New daddy Shoaib made the announcement today on social media and said that ‘his girl’ is doing great and keeping strong as usual.

Sania’s best friend and filmmaker Farah Khan too made the announcement on social media, calling herself a khaala (aunt) and congratulated the couple and their families.
Amidst controversies, Sania and Shoaib tied the knot in April 2010. They announced their baby with a cute photo on social media and talked about naming the child Mirza Malik. The tennis star had said, “My husband and I have spoken about it and we have decided that whenever we have a child, the child will have Mirza Malik as the surname and not just Malik. So that’s where we stand as a family, including my husband. He actually wants a daughter.”
She had also shut down questions of her retirement after the baby in an interview with a news channel. Earlier this month, she gave it back to haters who had trolled her after her baby shower pictures came out. She hit back saying pregnancy doesn’t mean you go into hibernation or become untouchable. The former doubles World Number 1 will be back on the court for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics because there’s no stopping her!
