The much-anticipated look of Alia Bhatt as mafia queen Gangubai Kathiawadi was revealed earlier this year in January. While it left all of us intrigued, the film was stalled because of the coronavirus pandemic. It was recently reported that the cast and crew will begin shooting in July. Now, according to the latest buzz, a new actor has been roped in for a pivotal role in the film. And guess what!? It is none other than Parth Samthaan. Yep, you read that right! The actor is reportedly making his Bollywood debut with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s period saga.
Rumour has it that our beloved Anurag Basu of Kasautii Zindagii Kay will be starring alongside Alia Bhatt in the film. According to media reports, Parth has signed his first Bollywood project with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi. Reportedly, the actor has also been talking to the people from the film unit about starting the prep for the film as soon as possible.
Recently, Parth was dominating headlines because he decided to quit Kasautii Zindagii Kay and reports suggested that the show might go off air from November. Parth also tested positive for coronavirus a few months ago. Even though the actor resumed shooting for Kasautii, reports were rife that the actor had put in his papers as he wanted to focus on his health and the new projects he has his hands on.

Coming back to Gangubai Kathiawadi, the film is based on Hussain Zaidi’s book Mafia Queens of Mumbai.
