Motherhood is one of the most special experiences in a woman’s life. Everything changes for a mother after she takes up the role of a parent for her little one. Bollywood actresses are no different! While there are plenty of working mothers in the film biz, some prefer to bid farewell to their careers to focus on their personal life.
Scroll down for Bollywood moms who took a break from films when their kids arrived:
Bhagyashree
Bhagyashree had the most stellar debut with Maine Pyaar Kiya. Surprisingly, she quit films at the peak of her popularity after the birth of her son Abhimanyu Dassani. While many producers and directors wanted Bhagyashree to continue, she wanted to focus on her personal life. In an interview, the actress said, “My entire focus and happiness was having him (Abhimanyu) with me. At that point, it was not a tough choice. All that I wanted to do was spend time with him.”
Anita Hassanandani
Anita is living her best life with her hubby Rohit Reddy and baby boy Aarav. Following the arrival of her little one, the Naagin star decided to put all her time into raising him. In a bunch of media interactions, Anita has confirmed that her priority is her son, and she’ll plan to make a comeback only when she feels ready.
Amrita Singh
Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh welcomed their baby girl Sara Ali Khan in 1995. While Amrita was still one of the most sought-after stars in Bollywood, she left showbiz and concentrated on raising Sara. In the last couple of years, Amrita made her way back to films again and has been a part of projects like Badla, 2 States, Hindi Medium and more.
Asin
Asin Thottumkal has been a part of not just Bollywood but also Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam film industries. In 2016, she tied the knot with business tycoon Rahul Sharma. In 2017, the couple welcomed their daughter Arin. For the longest time, Asin has been away from the entertainment biz and she has no plans to make a comeback.
Disha Vakani
Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s Daya behen left millions of fans heartbroken when she took a maternity break in 2018. While everyone was hopeful that she will make her way back to the show, it never happened. According to reports, Disha decided to quit acting to focus on her daughter.
Sonali Bendre
Every 90s kid remembers the stardom of Sonali Bendre! The actress welcomed her son Ranveer Behl in 2005. Since then she has been away from the silver screen. While Sonali made an appearance on many reality shows, she has no plans to take up film projects.
