I remember it like it happened yesterday. I was over the moon despite being chained to the bed with IV drips piercing through my veins. While the anesthesia wouldn’t let me lift a finger, it couldn’t stop my tears from flowing–the happy kinds–as I held my baby for the first time. I have influencer Malvika Sitlani to thank for this emo walk down the memory lane. The Internet sensation just dropped the latest episode of her birth vlog series on YouTube and it literally took me back to my own delivery day.
I bet that you won’t be able to go through this absolutely raw documentary ft. the birth of her baby girl Abigail without shedding a tear (in my case, crying a river). So get your tissue box ready and watch:
Malvika has been sharing heartwarming videos of her birth experience and difficult post-partum journey in “The Abika Series” (a combination of her daughter Abigail and Malvika’s names). In fact, she has garnered a lot of appreciation for being real about dealing with her separation from her ex-husband Akhil Aryan and sharing deets about her difficult pregnancy. However, the sheer rawness of her journey in this vlog just hit differently. From embracing 17+ hours of labour, trying water birth, undergoing episiotomy, and finally holding her baby girl in her arms, the influencer actually showed the side of childbirth that no one usually talks about.
NGL, I literally felt the tears, the exhaustion, the chaos, the happiness–everything that we mothers experience when we bring a life into this world. Kudos to her brother Jake Sitlani, for shooting it so beautifully, and more power to the new mommy. P.S. Keep the real content coming, Malz. The world needs it.
