Well, well, well, there’s a fresh piece of video featuring some marvellous looking actors, ready to take our breaths away. Okay wait, if are you wondering why we’re trying to sound so ‘extra,’ then relax. It’s just the Bridgerton season 2 effect! The first official trailer of the upcoming instalment released recently on Netflix’s social media handles and OMG, we have so many thoughts about it. Take a look:
The trailer of the period drama starts with the note that Anthony Bridgerton (played by Jonathan Bailey) is looking for an ideal wife. His attention is grabbed by Edwina Sharma (played by Charithra Chandran), but there’s a small twist in the story. To win her heart, he will first have to impress her elder sister, Kate Sharma (played by Simone Ashley). Well, that’s where the chaos begins and the video is hinting that the second season of the franchise is going to be dramatic AF! Here are the things that we noticed and are excited to see in Bridgerton season 2:
That Pride & Prejudice Vibe Though
We have to say that trailer of the second season is giving us major Pride & Prejudice vibe. While Kate, just like Elizabeth, is behaving all high and mighty, Anthony, just like Mr Darcy, is totes confused about his emotions. Also, that intense chemistry between the two is sizzling AF. We hope to see some steamy romance between the protagonists in the upcoming season as well.
We Miss You, Duke of Hastings
Speaking of steamy romance, we are truly missing Duke of Hastings aka Simon Basset (played by Regé-Jean Page) in the trailer. The actor revealed last year that he might not be a part of the upcoming season and it now seems that he’s definitely not. What a bummer! Thankfully, we did get a glimpse of his on-screen wife, Daphne Bridgerton. It means that we will get some intel about their married life on the show.
Was That A Haldi Ceremony?
The makers of the show have decided that Kate and her family will be of Indian descent. That’s quite exciting for us because believe it or not, we might witness a big fat Indian wedding on Bridgerton 2 soon. I mean, we’re pretty sure that it’s a Haldi ceremony that Kate and Edwin are celebrating in the trailer.
Stay Safe, Lady Whistledown
It seems that Penelope Featherington (played by Nicola Coughlan) is in a lot more trouble in season 2. Well, her writing has gotten bolder and her approach has become braver. Queen Charlotte is determined to disclose her identity and it will be fun to see if Penelope will fall into her trap.
Well, we cannot for March 25 to see if Bridgerton season 2 will be more impressive than season 1.
