My social media feed is currently flooded with pictures and videos from Lollapalooza, one of the greatest music festivals in the world. The fest made its Indian debut on January 28 and 29. Well, I missed attending it and today was the last day of this two-day affair. NGL, fan videos on the internet are giving me major FOMO. The festival features artists from different music genres—alternative rock, heavy metal, punk rock, hip hop, and electronic dance music. It was originally created as a farewell tour by Americal singer and songwriter Perry Farrell. The event then transformed into an annual American four-day music festival held in Grant Park, Chicago. Currently in its eighth year, Lollapalooza is the longest-running music festival in the United States.

Back in July 2022, the organisers of Lollapalooza announced its grand Asian debut to be held at Mumbai’s Mahalaxmi Race Course. The fest had a stellar lineup featuring desi and international artists like The Strokes, American classic rock band Greta Van Fleet, electronic dance music’s Diplo and Zhu, pop artists Cigarettes After Sex, and our very own AP Dhillon.

DJ Diplo’s Finale Performance
DJ Diplo arrived in India wearing a T-shirt with Abhishek Bachchan’s character from Dhoom printed on it. He performed wearing one with Aishwarya Rai’s face printed. The popular DJ definitely created a lot of ” dhoom” on stage too.
