Within a week of its announcement, Ekta Kapoor’s brand new reality show, Lock Upp has created a lot of buzz. The show would be following a format similar to Bigg Boss with 16 celeb contestants being locked up inside a jail for 72 days. Lock Upp is a great fix for everyone dealing with the post-Bigg Boss boredom and the fact that Kangana Ranaut has been roped in to play the host is adding to the overall excitement. Safe to say that we are pretty stoked for this one and you’d be equally chuffed once you hear about Lock Upp‘s contestant list.
A little birdie tells us that three big names have already been finalised for the show and a few more controversial contestants are currently in the talks. A lot of these confirmed and tentative names belong to the Bigg Boss pool and that is a definite upside for all the reality TV enthusiasts. Shehnaaz Gill
We hear that Shehnaaz Gill is all set to enter the Lock Upp jail as a contestant. A source has confirmed the same in an interaction with a popular online media platform. They have shared, “Shehnaaz Gill has been approached to be part of Kangana Ranaut’s Lock Upp and she even agreed to do it, Shehnaaz is right now going through the rough phase in life and she wants to stay away from the media glare and the world for a while and this is the best opportunity for her. Also, Shehnaaz has won millions of hearts and she will be one of the strongest contestants in the house and will definitely get some special power to be in the Lock Upp.”
Well, this is huge and if this update turns out to be true, Shehnaaz’s co-contestants do not stand a chance. She has become really big since her Bigg Boss innings in 2019-2020 and it would be almost impossible to beat Shehnaaz in a reality show format where public votes would count.
Poonam Pandey
During the launch event of Lock Upp, Ekta had declared that the show is going to be full of “controversy” and looks like she is all set to live up to the promise with contestants that never fail to bring drama to the table. We have been told that Poonam Pandey’s name has already been locked for the show. Given that it is going to premiere on an uncensored OTT platform, we can only imagine the kind of masala that’s coming our way now.
Rohman Shawl
Since his break-up (and rumoured patch up) with Sushmita Sen, Rohman Shawl seems to have become a hot favourite among tabloids. The Lock Upp makers are all set to leverage his popularity now by signing him up for the show. Apart from his pics and videos on Sushmita’s Instagram feed, we haven’t seen a lot of Rohman yet and it would be interesting to finally see his real personality in the show.
Pratik Sehajpal
Bigg Boss 15‘s runner up, Pratik Sehajpal is currently in talks with the Lock Upp makers and we are equal parts happy and excited with this update. Those who have followed Pratik’s journey from Ace Of Space to BB 15 know that this guy brings a unique touch to the table and has been harbouring the trophy dreams for so long now. It would be nice to see him giving another go at the trophy and here’s hoping that Pratik says ‘yes’ to this show.
