We think everyone out there will agree with the fact that Kangana Ranaut is the controversy’s favourite child. The actress never misses a chance to speak her mind but more often than not this attitude causes a lot of trouble and drama. Last night, the actress got into a heated argument with a reporter during the launch of her debut reality show Lock Upp.
It all started when a media person questioned Kangana about the latest Bollywood’s controversy—Instagrammer Freddy Birdy’s comment on Deepika Padukone. To those unversed, the social media influencer mocked the Cocktail actress for her ‘hemlines and necklines’ during the Gehraiyaan promotions.
Usually, Kangana doesn’t miss a chance to talk about women empowerment but this time she was in no mood to discuss anyone other than herself. The actress said, “Look, I am here to defend those who can’t defend themselves. Alright? She can defend herself. She has the privilege, the platform and I can’t promote her film here. Sit down.”
Here are our two cents on this incident— While we understand why Kangana decided to avoid talking about Deepika’s film Gehraiyaan, she could have worded her statement better. When you invite reporters for an event, it is an unsaid rule that they should be treated with dignity and respect. So, even if you aren’t pleased with the question, you can still maintain the decorum.
When Kangana Slammed Another Reporter In 2019
NGL, we aren’t surprised with Kangana’s statement as this is not the first time she has blasted a reporter at an event. Back in 2019, the actress lashed out at journalist Justin Rao for running a “smear campaign” against her and slamming her film Manikarnika. Justin denied the allegations and Kangana’s remarks led to a heated argument between the two. The actress also accused him of tarnishing her brand image.
After the spat, Kangana refused to apologise to the reporter and she asked for a media ban. She shared a video on the ‘Gram and said, “Please mujhe ban karo kyunki main nahi chahti ki meri wajah se tum logo ke ghar ka chulah jale. (Please ban me, I don’t want you guys (reporters) to earn a livelihood because of me)”
NGL, we wish Kangana stops taking panga with literally everyone around her. Disrespecting people is not sassy, it is just rude AF!
