Laxmi Agarwal Wore Sabyasachi To Chhapaak Premiere & Her Excitement Is All Over Her Insta

Ahead of the film’s release, Chhapaak makers arranged a special screening last night in Mumbai for Bollywood as well as friends and family of the cast. Laxmi Agarwal, the acid attack survivor and activist, who Deepika Padukone is playing in the film, also came to the premiere with the film’s director Meghna Gulzar. She was all dolled up in a beautiful red and gold saree by none other than Sabyasachi!

Styled by Deepika’s personal stylist, Shaleena Nathani, Laxmi wore a red saree with gold-foil work on it with a full-sleeved solid red blouse. She completed the look with a heavy choker necklace from the Sabyasachi Heritage Jewelry Collection. How regal!

She kept her beautiful long and black hair open, puckered up in a red lippie and finished off with her signature glossy eyeliner look.

Laxmi’s reaction was how any of us would feel after wearing a Sabyasachi saree for the first time. She even posted a short video of herself transforming into a Sabya woman on her Instagram. Check it for yourself!

Clearly, her excitement is infectious.

The 28-year-old was only 15 when she got attacked in 2005. Today, she is an inspiration whose unbreakable spirit and determination have uplifted countless acid-attack survivors. She is a world-renowned Indian campaigner with ‘Stop Sale Acid’ as her agenda to curb the public sale of acid.

More power to the woman of the hour. You are an inspiration, Laxmi.
