Katrina Kaif’s mornings are bitter, and I mean that literally. The actress-cum-entrepreneur drinks 2 cups of lukewarm-warm water after waking up; which is pretty typical of our routines too. But that’s not it. She follows it up with a glass of green juice infused with celery.
Bitter? Yes. But the payoff? Katrina’s glowing, radiant skin. Here’s why you need to warm up to the juice ASAP.
What Celery Juice Can Do For The Skin
This juice is extremely hydrating. It revitalises dull, dry skin and induces a glow on your face that’s not superficial or temporary. This hydration enhances the texture and maintains the oil levels of the skin too.
The presence of Folate and vitamins A and C in celery lends certain anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties that enable it to calm and soothe acne, inflammation, and redness. The fact that it doesn’t contain much sugar helps too.
Other antioxidants contained in it like apigenin, luteolin, tannin, saponin, and kaempferol allow it to fight ‘free radicals and prevent our cells from ageing. This prevents the formation of lines, wrinkles, and other signs of ageing; further amplified by celery’s ultra-hydrating nature.
How To Make It At Home
Though Katrina hasn’t revealed her recipe to us, here’s one that I like:
- Take 2 bunches of celery and cut off the stalks as well as the roots.
- Chop it into halves or thirds for it to fit into your blender.
- Add half a cup of water to the blender…and blend.
- You can add a few drops of lemon to the mix for flavour.
See? It’s bitter-sweet. The juice is bitter but the payoff is sweet.
