This Simple Skincare Routine Will Really Help You In Tackling Fine Lines & Wrinkles

Time changes everything and that means your skin will change too eventually. However, you can definitely slow down the process. Fine lines and wrinkles are getting even more common these days thanks to factors that cause premature ageing like environmental aggressors or blue light damage. Therefore, post 25 years old, building a skincare routine that fights these skin concerns as well is ideal. Besides, even if you are new to the skincare game and are looking to reduce the prominence of already existing wrinkles, there are solutions that will help you do just that and make you look graceful as you age.

What Are The Causes Of Wrinkles & Fine Lines?

Wrinkles can fine lines are signs of ageing. They can start to be more prominent after 40 years of age and they can also occur in your thirties if you aren’t taking good enough care of your skin. These skin concerns can even start occurring as early as your mid-twenties but they will not be as visible. Other than the natural ageing process of the skin, premature ageing can also occur from exposure to the sun and blue light from your laptop screens and smartphone devices. Smoking can also cause your skin to age quicker and not using essential skincare products can also leave your skin unprotected from these skin concerns.

Skincare Routine To Fight Signs Of Ageing

To help prevent fine lines and wrinkles, you must first make sure that you keep your skin clean and moisturised at all times. Aside from that, wearing sunscreen both indoors and outdoors is essential to stop sun damage from accelerating the ageing process. Adding anti-ageing ingredients like retinol, argan oil, and vitamin C to your skincare routine will help reverse the damage miraculously.

Step 1: A+ Cleanse

Start with choosing the right cleanser as it is the first and most important step of a skincare routine. Opt for a moisturising cleanser that preferably contains vitamin A in its formulation. Vitamin A is also known as retinol and therefore it will help diminish wrinkles and fine lines. You can also opt for natural ingredients-infused cleansers that have moisturising ingredients like aloe vera.

Step 2: Toning Truce

Using a toner after cleansing will help remove any traces of impurities that the face wash couldn’t entirely eliminate. It also helps slough off dead skin cells and keeps the skin’s barrier hydrated. Look for toners that are free of alcohol and have natural ingredients in the formulations.

Step 3: Active Action

It’s time to consider adding a serum to your CTM routine. Serums are super lightweight and do not moisturise your skin. Instead, they deliver essential active ingredients that work hard to treat stubborn skin concerns. Opt for a serum that contains ingredients like retinol (vitamin A), hyaluronic acid, collagen, niacinamide, or bakuchiol and apply it immediately after toner. If you are using retinol, make sure to use the retinol serum only at night as this ingredient is photosensitive to the sun.

Step 4: Moisturise, Moisturise

We cannot stress it enough. Moisturising is an important step and it will help keep fine lines and wrinkles in check. Opt for moisturisers according to your skin type but make sure they have nourishing ingredients that boast of anti-ageing effects. Apply moisturiser after using a serum for best results.

Step 5: Shield Up

Wearing sunscreen indoors as well as outdoors is key. UV damage accelerates the ageing process thousand times faster and if you aren’t wearing sunscreen all your skincare efforts will go to waste. Apply a lightweight sunscreen as your final step to your daytime skincare routine.

Step 6: On Repeat

Before you hit the sheets, make sure to repeat your skincare routine all over again. Cleanse, tone, apply serum, and then moisturise. You can go in for a thicker moisturiser at night as this will help repair your skin faster. Instead of moisturiser, you can also opt for a sleeping mask that will deeply hydrate your skin and won’t stain your pillow.

Follow these skincare tips and you won’t have to worry about fine lines and wrinkles any more. With these steps, your skin will look its best at whatever age you’re at.
