You Go Girl! Kareena Kapoor Hits Back At Trolls Calling Her ‘Buddhi’ & Everyone Needs To Pay Attention

Social media can be a double-edged sword, especially when you are a celebrity. It can be hard to ignore every mean-spirited, petty and disturbing comment that comes your way when you are a public figure. Recently, Kareena Kapoor Khan took to the ‘Gram to hit back at a troll for commenting ‘buddhi (old woman)’ on a picture featuring Malaika Arora, Amrita Arora and herself.

Usually, Bebo stays away from responding to the comments on social media but this time she had enough of social media bullies. Kareena shared the snap of the comment and wrote, “I keep seeing this on comments! If n when I bother to check, unless it’s the one that comes up on the top! So…buddhi is meant to be an insult?? Cos for me it’s just a word…a word that means old?! Yes we are older…n wiser…but you are nameless, faceless, ageless? And so are your folks?!”

We have a lot to say about this! First of all kudos to Kareena for not letting such a mean comment slide. It is almost disturbing to see social media trolls bullying actresses for ageing even when it is completely natural. While most male stars are called ‘silver fox’, women are crucified for not looking youthful all the time.

Kareena not only slammed the Insta bullies, but she also stood up for her friend Amrita who recently got trolled for gaining weight. “Also got a lot of hate on my weight gain! I own it …I love it ..my weight my problem! Since when has everything become everyone’s issue! Ohhh ya since social media gives … I give zero f’ssss … so pls go on, and I’ll name and shame! Ha,” Amrita had shared earlier today.

In the last couple of years, social media has turned into a breeding ground for hate and negativity. It is about time that these online bullies are held accountable for their unnecessary and hurtful comments.

We are proud to see our favourite tinsel town stars speaking up on the subject. Dear trolls, we’d like to leave you with author Margaret Atwood’s advice—”If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all”
