‘I’m Cold’ Makeup Is Winter’s Stone-Cold Reply To Sunburnt Blush

Hailey Bieber — we’ve news for you. You know how Lorelai and Rory Gilmore’s skin looks flushed and rosy during the cold-weather months in Stars Hollow? The aesthetic has finally snowballed into a trend that everyone’s called the ‘I’m cold’ look, and it is anything but glazed. This one’s intensely heavy on the flush — and so low on the glow. With December fast approaching, it’s time to retire the gloss, and summon up the powder-based blushers. Literally — all you need is blush to ace this trend. Because all the magic lies in the placement of the product. Here’s what it is, and how to achieve this cold-weather makeup easily.

This Is How Hot Girls Do Cold-Season Makeup

The goal is to make yourself look like you’ve just walked through a blizzard without actually having to do it. Cue — cheeks and noses awash with redness; lips rimmed with a flush; and lids looking rosier than normal. Keep in mind that this isn’t a dewy-dumpling, glazed-donut-skin aesthetic. Nope. Sorry, Hailey. Because the key to acing this look is by beginning with an ultra-matte base.

Zoe begins by ridding the skin of any oiliness or glow with a translucent matte-based powder. She mixes two powder-based blushers — orange and pink — and applies them all over the cheeks and nose before creating a flush over the Cupid’s Bow to play into the effect even more. The next step involves setting it all in with setting powder — which makes the flush look natural. Though she sweeps some blush over the lids as well, she doesn’t overdo it and keeps the brows simple and humble too.

Ishraani does something similar. She swipes some cream-based blush over the apples of the cheeks and nose before setting it with a matte-based powder to eliminate any glow. She goes on to layer on some more blusher — first, pink, and then, orange — and mixes the two to apply on the lids. The eyes are simple and minimal even in this case.

While Zoe uses orange-ish lipstick to tie it all together, Ishraani does a little mixing and matching and ends up with a brownish shade. You can choose a colour that you think flatters you best.

Basically — grab a cool-toned blusher (preferably powder-based), and smear it all over your Cupid’s Bow, cheeks, nose, and lids before adding a powder to the equation. That’s it. It’s that simple. Such a pretty winter makeup look.
