Parenting is a selfless journey and nothing less than a full-time job. Many accounts, over the years, tell us that not everybody who takes up the job really qualifies for it.
It goes without saying that parents leave a profound impact on their children’s lives, who gradually pick up many of their habits and behaviours. The environment parents inculcate in the house, the relationship they share with one another, manifests itself in their adulthood in various forms. A healthy relationship between parents can impact the way their kid approaches relationships in later years, and the opposite is also true. There are cases where unresolved childhood issues hinder a child’s ability to build meaningful long-term relationships.
People online are sharing their honest and unpopular opinions about parenting that could land them in difficult spots, but they are important and worth noting.
I think your parents relationship really do determine your view of love and relationships. https://t.co/IFieR9dzT1

“I gave birth to you!” “I raised you!” is not an excuse to treat your kids like shit and mentally/physically/emotionally/verbally abuse them! It doesn't make it okay to try and dictate and control their life! Your kids didn't ask to be here! https://t.co/TLqEBGna7E

Parents need to realise comparing their own children with other kids is NOT motivation https://t.co/DIDZQpqNQA

yelling and slamming shit will traumatize your child. it doesn’t matter if you are not physically hurting them or if the anger isn’t directed at them. people generalize “childhood trauma” to physical abuse or mental/emotional manipulation but it’s more than that. https://t.co/YPD1LQh2M6

95% parents in India aren't fit to be parents and should've been childless in first place https://t.co/I1SFyDvNvA

Most Indian parents have kids only because they see them as a retirement plan and/or having kids is something they feel they’re “supposed to do”. And most of these people should NOT be parents. https://t.co/z7tlJLWNKb

My most radical opinion that i absolutely stand by is, people shouldn’t be legally allowed to become parents unless they pass rounds of tests & at time can ensure child will be well cared for mentally, physically & financially. https://t.co/cncjCJrEPh

Parenting is a gift. You owe that kid everything because you were the one who decided you needed to fill that hole in your life, so act like it.

They're children, not slaves; you're supposed to be raising them, not using them for your own benefit. https://t.co/hy6xR9kl1M
you can raise a child without beating or causing pain to the child & still train the child well. https://t.co/xXd57HSB4d

parents should first look at their own genes when it comes to intelligence and appearance. they expect their child to be top class everywhere while they are not even average! https://t.co/KT5DM4g7WJ

Understanding child psychology should be a qualifying criteria for becoming parents. https://t.co/a9K5E3Ih1q

Parenting is not easy. And as much as our world like to rub it in our faces, it’s a choice. The worst thing you can do is have a child and scar them for life with neglect and lack of proper love, care, and affection. And please note that having a child cannot magically heal your wounds. You cannot put that baggage on a little soul.
