Recently, Zoya Akhtar gave us what we had been waiting for a long time—the first teaser of her upcoming Netflix movie, The Archies. It is going to be a Bollywood adaptation of The Archies comics and will be starring Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor and Agastya Nanda in the leading roles. The flick will also mark the debut of Dot, Vedang Raina, Mihir Ahuja and Yuvraj Menda. Going by the teaser, we have to say that we have great expectations from this young star cast. They all looked perfect in their characters and the clip made us quite nostalgic. Take a look:
We have just one word for this teaser—so cool! We grew up reading Archie comic books, and now we are going to watch the desi version of it. The movie will be releasing in 2023 and here’s everything you need to know about the cast:
Agastya Nanda
Agastya Nanda is the grandson of Amitabh Bachchan and the son of Shweta Bachchan and Nikhil Nanda. While his sister, Navya Naveli Nanda, has decided to stay away from B-town and focus on her business, Agastya is all set to become the next big star in the industry. He will be playing the role of the protagonist, Archie, a teenager who’s an aspiring musician and solves crimes with the help of his friend.
Suhana Khan
Suhana Khan is the daughter of Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan. She will be playing the role of Veronica, the most popular girl in her high school and Archie’s love interest. NGL, we have high expectations from the starlet and cannot wait to see her win our hearts just like her dad.
Khushi Kapoor
Khushi Kapoor is the daughter of Boney Kapoor and the late actress, Sri Devi. She will be donning the role of Betty Cooper, Archie’s BFF and Jughead’s girlfriend. Khushi’s sister, Janhvi Kapoor has already established her foot in B-town and we are waiting eagerly to see both the K-sisters rule the tinsel town completely.
Dot
Aditi Dot is the daughter of the late musician Amit Saigal. She’s a composer herself and rose to fame in the techno music genre with her tracks, Khamotian and Everybody Dances To Techno. While her character is not revealed as of now, she will probably be playing the role of Midge Klump, Reggie’s unrequited crush.
Mihir Ahuja
Mihir Ahuja is a beatboxer and voice-over artist, and has featured in small roles in movies and shows like Super 30 and Bard Of Blood. The actor will most likely play the character of Jughead, Archie’s BFF, who’s known for his sense of humour.
Yuvraj Menda
Yuvraj Menda is a popular fashion influencer and will be playing the role of Dilton Doiley, the nerdy teen of Archie’s squad.
Vedang Raina
Born and raised in Mumbai, Vedang Raina was a business student before entering Bollywood. He will be playing the role of Reggie Mantle, a heartthrob, athlete and one of the most daring guys in Archie’s gang.
