The Very First Thing Celebs Do In The Morning To Look Good

Something about my favourite B-Town celebrities’ A.M. routines intrigues me. What is it that Kat and P.C. do first thing in the morning right after waking up? Because I know that whatever it is that they do, it reflects on the skin. Do they eat something specific? Go for a jog?

When I started digging around, I found my answers, and they were just how I’d imagined them to be. Here’s what our favs do in the morning to look the way they do.

Malaika Arora

Malaika Arora doesn’t simply drink 2 cups of water in the morning. She guzzles down one whole litre instead. That’s about 5 or 6 glasses of water. The actor does this before Pranayama and skincare. This amount of water maintains the pH levels of the skin and prevents acne, sensitivity, and more. It can also control oil production; preventing frequent bouts of flare-ups in the process.

Priyanka Chopra

Right before sleeping, Priyanka Chopra pours some water into a cup. But not your normal, run-off-the-mill cup. A copper-based cup is what she sets on her bedside and drinks out of it first thing in the morning. This is not simply hydrating. Copper releases ions into the water over the course of a few hours. These ions infuse the water with skin-loving benefits. Since copper has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties, it can fight infections and acne-causing bacteria while soothing inflammation. It also has anti-aging abilities that diminish lines and wrinkles. No wonder Priyanka’s such a fan of this old-school ritual.

Katrina Kaif

To look wide-eyed and fresh on a working Sunday morning, Katrina Kaif lowers her head into a bowl of ice. The payoff for this hack is glowing, radiant skin that’s not puffy or inflamed at all. This is because of the depuffing, soothing qualities of ice or ice-cold water. The process tightens your veins and pores; making your skin look firm and youthful. You can run a cube of ice over your face instead too.

Kriti Sanon & Alia Bhatt

Both Kriti and Alia drink a cup of lukewarm-warm water with some lemon. This, Kriti says, hydrates the body from the inside out. It brightens the skin, lightens spots and discolouration, promotes the production of collagen for firmness and elasticity, and helps prevent acne.

Anushka Sharma

Anushka Sharma does something called ‘oil pulling’ in the morning. This is an Ayurvedic practice that involves swishing around an oil (like coconut and almond oils) in your mouth to maintain dental hygiene, prevent cavities, strengthen the gums, reduce inflammation, and so on. You typically do this for 10 to 15 minutes before brushing your teeth. Sharma’s 1000-watt smile is no joke.

Mira Rajput Kapoor

Before sleeping, Mira Rajput Kapoor soaks about 5 raisins and a strand of saffron in a quarter cup of water. She drinks this first thing in the morning before followed by a cup of lukewarm-warm water right after. This mix can treat acne and blemishes, fade lines and wrinkles, and hydrates you internally, and externally.

Ananya Panday

Ananya Panday adds some haldi, aka turmeric, to a glass of hot water every morning. Turmeric has inherent skin-brightening properties; even when ingested orally. Since it’s rich in antioxidants, it can also defend your body against free radicals and prevent your cells from ageing. This delays the development of lines and wrinkles and promotes the appearance of an even-toned complexion.

I know I’m attempting these ASAP if it means looking like them.
