6 Natural Ways To Lighten Dark Hair At Home

The Citrusy DIY

You’ll Need:

  • Lemon
  • Warm water
  • Spray bottle

Step 1: To get started, squeeze the juice from the lemons into the spray bottle and add water. It’s best to add two parts water for each part of lemon juice.

Step 2: Wet your hair, then spritz the lemon juice mixture throughout the lengths — or just over the sections you want to lighten. To maximise its lightening abilities, sit in the sun for upto 1 hour. Then, wash the lemon juice out of your hair. PS: Don’t forget to apply sunscreen to any exposed skin to protect it from the sun!

Yogurt To Be Kidding Me!

  • Chamomile tea bags
  • Hot water
  • Yogurt

Step 1: Leave the 3-4 tea bags steeping in hot water until it cools down.

Step 2: Shampoo and condition your hair and then apply the chamomile tea to your hair once it cools down. Don’t wash your hair afterward; instead, just let it air-dry.

  • Honey
  • Cinnamon
  • Olive oil

Step 1: To a bowl, add 2 tablespoons of honey, 1 tablespoon of cinnamon, and 1 tablespoon of olive oil to create a mask.

Step 2: Mix it all together. You can add a bit of conditioner if the consistency is too thick. Then, let the mixture sit for half an hour, giving the cinnamon and a honey time to mix and the hydrogen peroxide to activate. Apply the mixture to your hair, tie it up in a bun, and slap on a shower cap. Leave this on your hair for at least four hours. Even better if you can let it sit overnight. Just remember to put a towel over your pillowcase to avoid stains.

Honey And Vinegar FTW!

  • Honey
  • Vinegar
  • Coconut Oil

Step 2: Then, add 1 tablespoon of warmed coconut oil and blend the ingredients well. Apply it to your hair and wrap ii in an old towel. Leave it on overnight and wash it off with a shampoo the next morning.

I C You!

You’ll Need:

  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • Baking soda

Step 1: Add 1 cup of baking soda along with 3 tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide, mix it up and apply to your hair.
