NGL, we love to hear all about our favourite Bollywood stars’ Diwali plans! After hearing all about Yami Gautam’s arrangements for the big day, we got to know about Dia Mirza’s plans too! The actress will be celebrating the day with her 5-month-old son Avyaan Azaad Rekhi and her husband Vaibhav Rekhi.
Dia, along with her husband Vaibhav, welcomed their son on the 14th of May this year. Since then, he has been the apple of their (and the internet’s) eyes.
Speaking about her plans, Dia said, “It is overwhelming to see Avyaan celebrate his first Diwali after all the challenges he had to overcome this year. He is truly a little champ and it has been so enriching to see him deal with everything that came his way with a big smile. He is such a pure, joyful spirit. I hope, as adults, we too can go back to this state of innocence and put our trust in the universe. Both Vaibhav and I are truly grateful that we are sharing our very first Diwali with Avyaan.”
We are also incredibly excited to see pictures of baby Avyaan’s Diwali celebration. Just imagine the little munchkin in a tiny kurta pyjama!
Dia Mirza announced her pregnancy back in April this year with a sweet Instagram post. A month later, baby Avyaan arrived. The little one was a premature baby and the actress underwent an emergency C-section after suffering a severe bacterial infection.
“Our heartbeat, our son Avyaan Azaad Rekhi was born on May 14th. Having arrived early, our little miracle has since then been cared for by tireless nurses and doctors in the Neonatal ICU. A sudden appendectomy during my pregnancy and a subsequent and very severe bacterial infection could have led to sepsis and proven to be life threatening. Thankfully, the timely care and intervention by our doctor ensured the safe birth of our baby via an emergency C-section. As we watch this tiny being, this Zen master in awe and wonder, we learn from him, in all humility, the true meaning of trusting the universe and of parenthood,” penned the Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein actress in a long post.
In the last few months, Dia has been sharing snaps of her little bundle of joy and we are so happy to see him happy and healthy! Here’s hoping the beautiful actress treats us to super cute pictures of Avyaan on Diwali.
