Just like she started her Cannes 2022 innings with a bang, Deepika Padukone seems to be determined to finish in style too. After a mid-Cannes slump in her wardrobe, the actress is getting back to it and has been wearing some fun outfits. Just yesterday, she served not one but two head-turning looks. The most interesting part? Both of them were so contrasting in aesthetic and appeal that you could have sworn they were worn by two different people. Here’s what we think about each one of her outfits:
Flower Power
For her first look yesterday, DP opted for a floral Richard Quinn strapless dress. The mint hued mini had blooming roses printed all over it. The print is trademark Richard Quinn and we had earlier spotted it on the AW22 runway. The panelled dress was finished off with a black bandeau detail. This is a runway look and the most interesting detail were the matching boots. The actress kept the rest of it simple with a messy updo and pearl studs by Estaa Gems.
We love this look. It is pretty and has a lot of personality. With no dramatic details and a relaxed silhouette, this is a great day fit.
Finally, A Standout Louis Vuitton Look
For her look two, DP slipped into a dramatic Louis Vuitton gown, straight off the runway. Crafted in embroidered silk, the sheath gown featured dramatically structured sleeves which were further defined with heavy black fringes. One of DP’s previous LV gowns featured a similar detail and it looks like the brand is going big on fringe this season.
The fit was finished off with minimal jewels and it is DP’s hair that we love. The actress wore her hair down but not in the usual wavy style that she opts for. This was a stronger hairdo with s straightened mane and oodles of spray to give it ample volume.
The internet is currently divided on the look and we get why. The dramatic sleeves are surely not to everyone’s taste and they are def OTT. But haven’t we been looking forward to something equally statement all this while? Let’s savour it, now that it is here.
That said, we’d like to know what’s the temperature like in Cannes right now because there is no way you can wear both of these outfits in the same weather!
