The year 2023 belongs to two Bollywood divas—Deepika Padukone and Alia Bhatt. Both stars are ruling the globe with the biggest endorsement deals, amazing film lineups, and so much more. Sadly, this is not sitting well with their Twitter fandom.
Twitter just turned into a battleground between Alia and Deepika’s fans. People have picked a side between Alia and Deepika and the actresses are facing the brunt of it. Each actress’s fandom is attacking the other and it has gotten out of hand.
It all started when a Twitter user accused Alia of copying Deepika’s Cannes look from 2019. The tweet reads, “Alia Bhatt is never beating the ‘she’s trying to be Deepika Padukone’ allegations i fear and we’re here for it”
Soon enough, Deepika and Alia’s stans started a Twitter war defending their icons. Here are some of the tweets that got my attention:
In all honesty, it is disturbing to see two actresses being pitted against each other. Especially when Deepika and Alia have shared a noteworthy friendship. During Koffee With Karan Season 6 Deepika and Alia arrived on the show together and their bond was so wholesome.
DP revealed that they connected as friends at a concert. “We went to watch a Coldplay concert and that’s when we spent a considerable amount of time together, which was unplanned. That’s the night when we really connected,” said Deepika.
Alia instantly agreed with DP. “That night was a revelation for me as I had always seen Deepika very poised and proper. She is mad, like a crackpot,” said the Highway star.
When Deepika and Alia are happy to see each other succeed, why is Twitterti living in the ‘mirchi lagi‘ era? There is no need to pull one down. Can’t both of them be successful?
