The precious bond between a mother and daughter is difficult to put in words. It’s filled with tears, laughter, some squabbles and a sense of protectiveness and unconditional love that is so endearing. From the time a daughter comes into the world and holds her mom’s fingers with her tiny little hands- the bond is unbreakable. But it’s her little girl’s wedding day that is the most special occasion for a mother.
Meet our POPxo all-rounder, Ragini Kapoor, whose mother won all our hearts by singing her bridal entry song. She pre-recorded the song Madhaniya for her daughter’s D-day and it was the best surprise Ragini could ever receive.

Talking about this, Ragini shared, “I was getting the final touches on my mehendi which took a total of 6 hours while my friends danced. That is when both my sisters came to me and told me that there was a surprise, something they wanted to give me on my wedding day but decided to do it on my mehendi so that I could be ready now.”
As soon as the sisters hit play, Ragini recognised her mom’s voice and was overcome with emotion. “My mum hid behind the guests but I knew from the very first word that it was her voice. I froze at that moment and the tears just didn’t stop,” she further added.
“It was such a special moment, something that only happens in dreams. Years ago, I had told my sisters that I’d like to walk down the aisle on a song that my mother sang. But because I had decided I wanted a destination wedding, I knew it wouldn’t be possible. But I guess that’s what a mother’s love is, making the impossible possible and doing whatever it takes to make their children’s dreams come true. I don’t think there was any better way of me walking down the aisle towards a new life”, added Ragini.
Ragini wore a stunning gold and peach floral Sabyasachi lehenga for her Goa celebrations. She completed her look with a kundan mathapatti and a layered neckpiece. Fresh and minimal makeup by Rishab Khanna was perfect for the sundowner beach wedding.
