Shahid Kapoor & Mira Rajput
Designed by Ravish Kapoor, Shahid and Mira’s cream and turquoise wedding card is my absolute fave till date! The couple spent a whooping 45 lakhs on the invites! Along with the card, Shahid and Mira gave assorted boxes of tea and honey to their guests., But there was also a special little personal touch! The boxes also had cookies baked by Shahid’s dearest brother Ishaan Khattar!
Shilpa Shetty & Raj Kundra
Shilpa and Raj had a big fat Punjabi wedding and their shaadi ka card screamed royalty! They spent around 6 million dollars on the invitations. They went for a square-shaped golden card that resembled a havan kund on unfolding. It had Sanskrit shlokas written all over the flaps and had an ‘RS’ engraved in the center.
Isha Ambani & Anand Piramal
How can an Ambani wedding not be larger than life? Isha Ambani’s grand wedding ceremony was the talk of the town back in 2018. And her royal-than-ever wedding card costed Rs. 3 Lakhs each! The invitation box was gold plated and played gayatri mantra on opening it. It consisted of the itinerary for wedding functions, a personalised note written by the bride and groom, and four boxes of gifts made of gold!
Aishwarya Rai & Abhishek Bachchan
The Bachchan family is known for throwing grand functions and Aish and Abhishek’s lavish shaadi was an example! Their three-tier wedding invite boxes costed them 5 million dollars. The invite comprised of three boxes-one had the wedding deets, the second had sweets made of Swiss chocolates, and the third had a special poem penned by Amitabh Bachchan!
Vivek Oberoi & Priyanka Alva
The Saathiya actor’s wedding card was one of the most expensive wedding invites ever (worth 11 crores)! The box was embellished with crushed gemstones and real gold. Not just that, they even got some special invites made that had limited editions of ‘ganjifa art’ (a handpainted art form, famous from the Mughal rule) inside a velvet jewellery box!
OMG, so much expense on just the wedding invite! I wonder how much they spend on their weddings. Now, that deserves a dedicated article. BRB, researching!
