The Grammy Awards Red Carpet is a grand showcase of both old and new trends and this year’s edition was nothing less. I began my day a little early to watch my favourites arrive at the awards.
And I noticed how some of their beauty looks were very similar to one another. From their hair to their nails, I’ve identified some celeb-approved beauty trends at the Grammy’s that might just set the tone for the rest of the year. Look out!
Wet N Wavy
Beyoncé and Lizzo didn’t just match their metallic outfits. Both of them sported wavy hair for the Grammys. While Lizzo flaunted jet-black hair, Queen Bey’s curls were two-toned instead. They opted for the wet hair glamm look and I’m sure I’m going to see this trend everywhere now.
Holographic N Metallic
Something tied Megan Fox, Taylor Swift, and Lizzo together that night. The trio didn’t hold back in the nail-art department. Their nails were chromatic and intense. Taylor’s nails drew inspiration from her album Midnights. But Lizzo and Fox’s nails were both silver and shiny. I’m definitely ditching my neutral mani for something metallic and glittery this time.
Black N Bossy
Cardi B’s nail-art aesthetics don’t surprise me anymore. Not even her all-black stiletto nails. In comparison to the rapper’s previous manis, this one’s pretty lowkey. But she wasn’t the only one sporting the colour.
Even American singer-dancer Charlie D’Amelio and influencer, Travis Barker, wore all-black nails. The difference was that the duo’s nail artist accessorised their nails with chains near the cuticle. TBH, the chain is too much for me but I’m going to recreate the rest of it soon.
Goth N Glossy
Think Wednesday Addams but glossier. Because A-listers like Paris Hilton and Doja Cat played goth and glossy. Doja, obviously, went eyebrowless. The rest of the look featured metallic lips and bold eyeliner.
Paris Hilton, who’s always more of a Barbie than a Wednesday, also went in with a kohl-heavy eye. But she did say yes to the Barbie-like half-up ‘do.
The Grammys just predicted some hot-RN trends and I cannot wait to try ’em!
