I got my hands on the Anastasia Beverly Hills Matte Lipstick in Blush Brown which comes with a newer formula, and fancier packaging. This is one purchase I was really looking forward to because I thought it would wear like my older one but better.
What Is It?
The Anastasia Beverly Hills Matte Lipstick in Blush Brown is a lightweight, intensely pigmented lip colour designed to glide on with ease, leaving a rich, velvety matte finish behind. This stick of perfection aims to redefine what we expect from matte lipsticks by offering comfortable, long-lasting wear that doesn’t dry out your lips. It’s formulated without parabens, alcohol, oils, and sulfates, ensuring your lips stay happy and healthy.
Its key features and benefits include high pigmentation, smooth comfort, and long-lasting and formulated with safe ingredients.
Our Thoughts
I’ve been a big fan of the Anastasia makeup collection having tried a few liquid lipsticks, eyeshadows, and glosses. But this product is a little underwhelming. Let’s talk about the formulation first. I love this new formula; it’s satin-smooth, does not dehydrate your lips, and goes on super smoothly with or without a balm. The packaging is also eye-catching – I love taking this out of my bag to the delight of all my co-workers (who are all lipstick aficionados).
Now let’s talk about the pigment. It’s pretty bad, especially for Indian skin tones. I usually never face an issue with brown lipsticks but this is such a strange colour – it makes my lips look very washed out which is probably because it’s a cool-toned brown made for Western skin tones. Plus, the longevity is next to nothing – you have to reapply it every time you eat or take a sip of water. All in all, I’m not the biggest fan of this and don’t think it’s worth the money.
How To Use It?
Start with clean, exfoliated lips for the smoothest finish. Swipe the lipstick directly onto your lips, or use a lip brush for more precision. For added definition, outline your lips with a matching liner before filling them in. Reapply as needed.
What It Looks Like
In Conclusion
Not a big fan, don't recommend it since there are a lot of gorgeous budget-friendly alternatives with better shades suited to Indian skin tones in the market.
