This Lipstick Makes Me Look Like The Baddest B*tch On The Block

As someone who has a separate drawer only for red lipsticks, you know something’s good if I’m excited about it. Mic drop for Fenty Beauty’s Fenty Icon Velvet Liquid Lipstick in the shade H.B.I.C.

What Is It?

If you remember Rihanna’s iconic Super Bowl performance in 2023, you’ll also know that her red lipstick went viral. With her performance, she launched the Icon Velvet Lipstick range. Despite being a liquid matte lipstick, this range promises to keep the lips plush and lightweight despite the shades being extremely pigmented.

Our Thoughts

My lips are almost always dry, no matter how much balm I smear on them, so liquid mattes have always been the last resort. That’s until H.B.I.C entered my life. The first thing you notice when you apply this is that the liquid lipstick doesn’t feel like your regular ones. It’s strangely comfortable, feels like a whipped texture, and is non-drying. The colour payoff is excellent, and you only need one swipe for it to stay on your lips – any more, and it starts to feel a little heavy.

The colour is a deeper wine-ish red that looks incredible on Indian skin tones. It makes the teeth appear whiter and highlights the face.

While it doesn’t crease, it does tend to smudge easily. It’s also incredibly easy to get off with the help of just micellar water. And unlike other liquid lipsticks, this one doesn’t take off the top layer of your skin with the lipstick.

How To Use

Like any other liquid lipstick, use the doe applicator to first line your lips and then smudge it inward. You won’t need too much product with this, the lesser the better.
