Bollywood celebrities are infamous for frequently making statements that do not sit right with their fans. At times, their words are blown out of proportion and sometimes, we wonder what they were even thinking. Something similar happened last year with Ananya Panday. The actress had made remarks about her father Chunky Panday’s struggles in the entertainment industry that ruffled a lot of feathers. We’re talking about The Newcomers Roundtable 2019 With Rajeev Masand, where she opened up about nepotism in B-town.
While talking about it, she said, “My dad has never been in a Dharma film, he never went on Koffee with Karan. So it’s not as easy as people say. Everyone has their own journey and their own struggle.” Siddhant Chaturvedi reacted to it almost immediately and said, “Sabka struggle alag hota hai. Difference yahi hai ki jahaan humare sapne poore hote hain, wahi inka struggle shuru hota hai (Everyone has their own struggle. The difference is that their struggle begins where our dreams are fulfilled).“
Well, it has been more than a year since this interview, but netizens haven’t stopped talking about it. And now, Ananya has finally opened up about her comment and Sid’s reaction. She recently appeared on the talk show, Social Media Star, and said that if given the chance, she would change her statement.
“Basically, I agree. But also I think that Sid and I were kind of saying the same thing. Sometimes, in interviews, as you can see, I’m very overwhelmed. If I had to go back, I would probably change the way I said something,” she said.
Ananya also added that she and Siddhant have always been on good terms and added, “We were laughing about it later. Sid and I are really close. We have no weird thing about this. People made it something bigger and it became meme-worthy. Genuinely my intention wasn’t like what came across.” Kudos to Ananya for taking accountability for her words so gracefully!
The actress will soon be seen in Shakun Batra’s upcoming movie with Siddhant and Deepika Padukone. We already saw a glimpse of their sizzling chemistry during the interview. Now, we are eagerly waiting to see them together on the big screen.
