Ananya Panday has become the talk of the town for her upcoming debut in Bollywood. She’s gearing up for Student Of The Year 2 opposite Tiger Shroff and Tara Sutaria.
Team SOTY 2 has left no stone unturned and no platform untouched to promote their film. From appearing on chat shows, reality shows to press conferences, the cast and crew are aggressively marketing the film.
Recently, in an interaction with IANS, Ananya spoke about nepotism. The starlet said, “I am 20 and this was my dream all my life. So, it’s not fair for people to say that I am not allowed to have a dream because I belong to a certain family. I hope people watch the film and then make a judgement. I will be okay with whatever judgement they’d make after that.”
She admitted that nepotism does exist in Bollywood, “it exists in all industries, not just our (Bollywood) industry. I am very lucky that I got this chance and audition… I feel internally, I will never be feeling guilty in anyway because I auditioned for the movie twice. I was work-shopping with Punit (Malhotra) for a year after that. So, from inside I worked for this and I don’t have that guilt in me.”
She also spoke about how she’s proud to be Chunky Panday’s daughter, “My dad has worked so hard to earn a name in the industry and to gain respect. So, I don’t want to take away anything from him. I don’t want to be ashamed to be his daughter…”
Recently, Ananya’s parents Chunky and Bhavna Panday interacted with a media portal and revealed some interesting things about Ananya. Mother Bhavna talked about how people thought Ananya was conceived before the couple got married. She said, “Ananya is literally a honeymoon baby. We were married in January 1998, and she was born in October. People were actually calculating if I conceived her before or after marriage. We still had to discover each other and then we had this beautiful baby. She has been with us from our first anniversary.”
She and Chunky also spoke about how they come up with their daughter’s name. They said, “We settled on Ananya, as it means matchless. Jiska koi muqabla kar nahi sakta.”
On the work front, Ananya has already bagged a role in another film without having made her debut yet. She’ll be seen in Pati Patni Aur Woh starring Kartik Aaryan and Bhumi Pednekar. She is pretty excited about that project, “After SOTY 2, they (makers of ‘Pati…’) saw me and that’s why they wanted me in the film. So, when I know that people are appreciating my work and that is why they want to give me more work, that is a good feeling for me to have in the inside.”
