It has been over a month since Alia Bhatt shared that she is expecting her first child with Ranbir Kapoor. Since then, a lot has been said about the announcement and the frenzy is yet to die. The actress is being constantly questioned about her pregnancy during press conferences and something similar happened during a Darlings promotion event recently.
While interacting with the media, the actress was legit asked a question on how she was managing the ‘stress of promotions’ while being pregnant. Already tired of all these nonsensical queries, she replied, “Agar aap fit ho, healthy ho, fine ho toh koi rest lene ki zarurat hai hi nahi. Kaam karna mujhe sukoon deta hai, mera passion hai. (If you’re fit and healthy, you don’t need to rest during pregnancy. Work gives me peace, it is my passion).” The Dear Zindagi actress further added, “It keeps my heart, my soul everything alive and charged. Toh main toh matlab 100 saal ki umar tak kaam karungi. (I will work till I am 100 years old).”
Just last month, Alia had expressed her annoyance when people were simply assuming that she was going to stop her shoots and rest after announcing her pregnancy. She even posted a story about the same and wrote, “I do not need to REST at all but good to know you all have a doctor’s certification as well”.
Well, here’s hoping Alia’s answer puts an end to all these random questions. The actress is clearly fit enough to work right now. Besides travelling places to promote Darlings, the actress recently completed shooting for her Hollywood debut Heart of Stone and has even wrapped up her schedule for Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani.
Her work ethic is the biggest answer for anyone wondering if a pregnant woman can continue working.
