We have seen movie stars attending Ambani celebrations. We have also seen Ambanis attending Bollywood weddings. It is evident that the Amabni fam is very much a part of B-town’s inner circle. But looks like they are now on a mission to also make this relationship professional with Isha Ambani eyeing a collaboration with Alia Bhatt!
Isha, the head of Reliance Retail, seems determined to bring a fashion revolution to the country. Under her leadership, Reliance Brands has already acquired stakes in big fashion brands like Ritu Kumar, Anamika Khanna’s AK-OK, Abraham & Thakore, and Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla. Well, guess what? Isha is all set to make yet another fashion acquisition by buying Alia Bhatt’s children’s wear brand Ed-a-Mamma.
As per the latest reports, Reliance Brands would be acquiring Ed-a-Mamma in a huge Rs 300-Rs 350 crore deal.
For the unversed, Alia launched her children’s wear brand in 2020 to cater to kids in the age group of 2-14. The conscious brand reportedly had a valuation of Rs 150 crores in 2021 after its launch on Myntra and was among the top three brands on the platform in the kids’ wear category. The brand grew even bigger in later 2022 after the announcement of Alia’s pregnancy. Isha seeks to strengthen Reliance Brand’s presence in the children’s wear segment with this acquisition.
Clearly, big things are brewing at the Reliance headquarters and it would be interesting to see what more Isha has in store for us. Rest assured, it will be fashionable AF!
