RIP! Sushant’s ‘Kai Po Che’ Co-Star Asif Basra Found Hanging In A Himachal Guest House

RIP! Sushant’s ‘Kai Po Che’ Co-Star Asif Basra Found Hanging In A Himachal Guest House

In shocking news, actor Asif Basra was found hanging in a private guest house in Himachal Pradesh earlier today. Vimukt Ranjan, SSP Kangra has confirmed the news. “Film actor Asif Basra was found hanging in a private complex in Dharamshala. Forensic team is at the spot and police is investigating the matter,” he shared in interaction with ANI.

Both the Forensic team and the police have reached the rented apartment where he was found hanging. They are currently investigating the matter so as to ascertain if it’s a death by suicide and to rule out any foul play.

Filmmaker Hansal Mehta was the first to share the news on social media. “Asif Basra! Can’t be true… This is just very, very sad,” he wrote. Manoj Bajpayee also reacted to Hansal’s tweet by writing, “What? This is too shocking!! Shot with him just before Lockdown!!! Oh My God!!!”

Asif was 53 years old and has left an illustrious legacy behind. From Jab We Met to Black Friday, he appeared in a plethora of super hit films and also played a key role in Sushant Singh Rajput’s Kai Po Che. On the big screen, he was last seen in the 2019 release, called The Tashkent Files. He was truly one of the actors who had an imposing screen presence and always managed to leave a mark even with the smallest of the roles portrayed by him. He was also seen in Amazon Prime’s Paatal Lok recently.

This is indeed a huge loss for the industry. That said, 2020 has indeed been one heartbreak of a year. We have already lost megastars like Irfan khan, Rishi Kapoor, and Sushant Singh Rajput and this just comes as yet another shocker. The film industry has lost yet another bright star. RIP Asif!
