New Year. New Season. New You. 2017 is coming to an end (already), so its time to acknowledge the top fashion trends that made our year glamourous. We did a little digging and brought these 17 style statements that made it to every fashion girl’s closet. Hopefully, we’ll see some of them being carried into the new year. 1. Clear heels
Clear heels are one of Kim K’s favourites. We see her often in them. These transparent heels give a sexy vibe, think naked dress for your feet. It became a big head turner this year. These not only made you appear taller but were very comfortable to wear. Clear your thoughts, and invest in a pair if you haven’t already.

2. Slip dress
Top of the must-buy list for every fashionista. Camisoles or slip dresses are feminine and body-slimming that makes them perfect for all occasions. A t-shirt underneath for a casual day and a leather jacket over it for night outs.

3. Fishnets
While buying this one, the only thought that came to our mind was “Can I pull this off?” Hell yeah! Every social media star was seen sporting this trend. So if you wanted to add that extra edge to your outfit, you must have at least tried wearing one.

4. Chokers
Trends from the 90’s made a solid comeback this year. From the simple black strings to broad stone embellished ones, every single person you know was hit by the resurging choker wave.

5. Flared pants
Statement sleeves for your legs, these figure-flattering pants were a hit with the stylish crew. There was no reason not to buy this one. Bell bottoms borrowed from the 70’s made you feel the vintage and bohemian vibe of the era.

6. Culottes
This modern and uber-cool style became the shopping staple for your summer wardrobe. Season’s most popular pants were all about pulling it off correctly. Crop top + culottes + heels and you are all se to go.

7. Cold shoulder/Off shoulder
By now you must be having a separate cupboard for all the cold-shoulder and off-shoulder pieces you’ve accumulated. It is the official trend of the year that refuses to end. These peek-a-boo tops and dresses are just too much fun.

8. Glitter shoes
Did you go out there and blind the world with your sparkly shoes? These ultra-glam footwear were definitely a feast for our eyes. Glitzy, sequinned and sometimes outright blingy, these babies travelled everywhere.

9. Satin shirt and trousers
It is so hard to resist a garment that doesn’t just look good but is actually comfortable to wear. This year’s comfiest trend is one we borrowed from the bedroom. The most versatile of them all, this silky two-piece set can go straight from night out to in.

10. Palazzo saree
Imagine wearing a saree with palazzo pants, quite unusual, I believe. We were eager to see this one hit the party circuit. A lot of tinseltown beauties were seen sporting this fashion trend.

11. Corset belt
We also did a throwback to the Victorian era, when we accentuated our curves with corset belts. Making an unexpected statement, these wide belts tapered down basic outfits for a polished look.

12. Mules
The backless shoes (as we like to call it) or mules gained a lot of popularity this year. Easy to slip on, these shoes were the easiest to bring a new spin to your wardrobe; whether you wanted to be all dressy for the weekend or all formal for work.

13. Embroidered denims
2017 felt like one giant canvas filled florals. From dresses to shoes, they were everywhere! Our favourite, embroidered floral denims that added an interesting twist to our regular blues. Easy to DIY, these were the biggest and easiest hack to adopt.

14. Vintage faux fur
Vintage faux fur and teddy coats really upped the bar on winter glam. Every street style spotlight seemed incomplete without faux fur on. Brownie points for incorporating the award winning red-pink combination in it.

15. Statement sleeves
This fashion trend has taken 2017 by the storm. Everyone has had an OOTD moment with these tops. The exaggerated sleeves added a little kick to your normal outfit and make for fun Boomerang videos. So you either went big or went home.

Pajama or track pant were the new trend in 2017 that we simply cannot get of. I guess all the fashionistas found a balance between being chic and cozy all at the same time. Who knew you could walk right out of your bed looking so stylish.
