To be honest, those of us with curly hair are always tempted to straighten the crap out of it. If you’re reading this, chances are you belong to the wavy hair crew. In the quest for ultra-sleek, pin-straight strands, there’s no denying that heat tools are a necessity. However, as we are confined to our homes, investing time to heat style our hair every day just seems like a lot of work. But don’t fret as we’ve just the thing for you. Enter DIY hair masks that will give you silky and straight hair naturally and will save your strands from heat-styling.

DIYs To Get Sleeker, Smoother & Straighter Hair

Go Bananas

You’ll need:

Method: 

Step 1: To a bowl, add 2 ripe bananas, ¼ cup of cold milk, and 3 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil. Blend all the ingredients until there are no lumps. Add more milk if it seems too thick. 

Step 2: Apply it all over the hair and slap on a shower cap. Leave it on for around 30 mins. Next, rinse with a gentle sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner.  

The Citrusy DIY

You’ll Need:

Step 1: In a bowl, add ¼ cup of coconut milk and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. Mix the ingredients well.

Step 2: Refrigerate the mixture overnight. Apply the mixture to your hair, from the roots to the tips the next day.

Step 3: Leave it on for up to 30 minutes. Wash off with cool water and a mild sulfate-free shampoo.

Step 1: To a bowl, add 2 whole eggs and 3 tablespoons of olive oil. Whisk the ingredients together until they’re nicely blended.

Step 2: Apply the mixture to your hair and leave it on for about an hour.

Step 3: Then wash your hair with cool water and mild sulfate-free shampoo.

Rice Flour DIY

You Will Need:

Step 1: To a bowl, add 1 egg white, 5 tablespoon of rice flour, 1 cup fuller’s earth and ¼ cop of milk. Blend the ingredients until you get a smooth mixture. Feel free to add more milk in case the mixture is too thick, and fuller earth if it is too thin.

Step 2: Cover your hair with the mask. Leave the mask on for about an hour before rinsing it off with a mild sulfate-free shampoo.

The Ultra-Nourishing Mask

Step 1: Take one ripe banana and equal parts of papaya in a bowl. Mash the two ingredients together until the mixture is free of lumps. 

Step 2: Apply this mixture onto your hair. Leave the mask on for around 45 minutes or until the mask is dry. Wash off with cool water and a mild sulfate-free shampoo.
