BURN! Taapsee Pannu Replies To Rangoli’s ‘Sasti Copy’ Comment & It Was Just As We Expected

Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu is known to be fierce, outspoken and opinionated. She speaks her mind and stands for whatever she believes in. We were patiently waiting to hear her comeback on Kangana Ranaut’s sister Rangoli Chandel’s comment on the Manmarziyaan actress and well, she has handled it really well.

In case you missed it, Taapsee was all praises for Kangana and Rajkummar Rao’s Judgementall Hai Kya when the trailer came out. Taapsee wrote in her tweet:

To this, Rangoli replied:

And now Taapsee has given it back to the Ranaut sisters. In an interview with a leading daily, Taapsee said, “Not just Anurag, a few other close friends from the industry also wanted to retort, but I stopped them because I don’t want to give her any mileage on my behalf. She can’t play the nepotism card with me because I’ve also struggled to reach where I am today.”

The Pink actress further stated that she didn’t want to engage in a word battle. She said, “I would not be able to match their language.” She further added, “I didn’t know there was a copyright on curly hair, which I was born with, and honest opinions. I’m not going to apologise for it. As far as being ‘sasti’ is concerned, Kangana claims to be the highest-paid actress, so I guess I am the ‘sasti’ version.”

Without any godfather or connections in Bollywood, Taapsee has confidently carved a niche for herself in the industry. This is not the first time that she has spoken her mind. She is a total badass when it comes to hitting back at trolls and standing out for what she believes in. She is honest and straight-forward, and we love it when she speaks her mind!

Here are just a few instances when she made us stand up and salute her

A Jibe At Karan Johar

Vir Das appeared on Koffee With Karan this season and tweeted about how his wit will make everyone ‘stand up’. To this Taapsee replied, “Hahahahha nice one. Just that Taapsee still doesn’t qualify to be there 😅 I am looking forward to seeing this episode. All you guys are hilarious 🤗”

On The Nepotism Debate

During promotions for Mulk, Taapsee revealed that she lost out on projects since she had no connections or godfather backing her. The actress said, “It is not a shocker to me that a film went out of my hands, not because I was not credible, but because I was not so-and-so’s daughter or sister or dating so-and-so.”

Her Views On Kabir Singh

Taapsee said, “Rumi Bagga in Manmarziyaan was a flawed character too and ended up losing her love and getting divorced. The same misogynist people who didn’t see a problem with Kabir booed Rumi. We aren’t oblivious to the double standards of our society.”

A Sneaky Dig At Kabir Singh Director Sandeep Vanga Reddy

Taapsee reacted to the news of a Nagpur-based man, who smashed the skull of his 19-year-old girlfriend because he suspected her closeness with other men. She tweeted, “Or maybe let’s just say they were madly in love with each other and this ‘act’ was to validate his TRUE love for her. 🤷🏻‍♀️”

She was refering Kabir Singh director Sandeep Vanga Reddy’s interview where he had said, “It’s not true love if you can’t slap each other.”

The Perfect Reply To Being Called Unlucky

When she entered the film industry, her movie didn’t do well commercially and everyone started blaming Taapsee for the failure of the films. But Taapsee answer to all was a perfect reply. She said, “Three of the films I worked in didn’t work and I got the label of ‘iron leg’ – I was ‘rumoured’ to bring bad luck to films. Mind you, all of these films had huge male co-stars and directors.”

She Believes She Is The Hero Of Her Films

The actress said, “Truth is, I’m less heroine and more the ‘hero’ in my story and for some that’s a bitter pill to swallow, but then that’s tough…because I’m not going anywhere.”
