The Lakme Fashion Week 2017 showcased the edition of Sustainable Fashion on day 2 of its current run. Restart Fashion is an initiative by IMG Reliance that aims to form collaborations among creators to design and produce out of sustainable means. The methods experimented with involved upcycling wool, recycling cotton, zero carbon footprint recycling and use of natural fibers.
We bore witness to some of the most offbeat designs of the season! The labels Chola by Sohaya, Anuj Bhutani and Doodlage presented their take on a responsible fashion line with a mix of asymmetric silhouettes and eccentric designs.
Chola presented its line of recycled ‘Recca’, a combination of flowy skirts, boxy jackets, long plaid coats and slashed trousers. The entire collection had a look of unbalanced elegance!
Anuj Bhutani presented his minimalistic line of pastel trench coats, easy to wear bermudas & pants, baggy woollen jumpers and relaxed bermudas.
Doodlage was the one label that brought in the the awe in the show! The quirky designs with corset shirts, patchwork pants and embroidered slips combined with shirts were super fun to watch! Throw in some whimsical eye masks and throaty music, the show stopping label had put the audience in a trance!
The entire collection is a conscious effort from the designers to make fashion more responsible. We applaud their artistic vision and cannot wait to see what wonders they create next!
