A Fort Wedding & Lots Of Pretty Ideas… You Have To See This!

Every girl, ever since she starts understanding the meaning of the word marriage, dreams of a larger-than-life palace wedding. And when Palki Malhotra, VP, Plixxo tied the knot, she made sure that it was an affair to remember. The pictures of her grand fort wedding in Jaipur (yes, a legit FORT) are what dreams are made of. Shot by Fotografia9, this royal fort wedding is just what you need to see today!

Their story first…

Palki and Akhilesh were together in college, but as destiny would have it, they started dating only after their course was over. They were together for 5 years before they tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony at Diggi Palace, Jaipur on the 14th of May, 2017. Planned by the couple themselves, in only a month, it was a two-day affair with a lifetime of memories.

The Mehendi

We totally love the pretty, vibrant lehenga that Palki wore. The outfit was designed by the designer duo, Monika Nidhii. And did you notice her customized blouse? It reads ‘Bride-To-Be’ along with their wedding hashtag, #PalkiAkhi. So cool, right?!

One with all her besties! #Goals!

From the food to the entertainment, everything at the mehendi ceremony was Rajasthani. They even had the popular ‘shoot the balloon’ game to keep their guests busy!

Pretty Jaipuri bangles called Pochi were the mehendi favours for all the ladies while the men wore a stylish ‘ladkiwaale’ brooch.

The colour theme for the mehendi function was pink for guys and mint green for girls. The couple however, colour-coordinated their outfits. Love it, don’t you?!

The Cocktail

Palki’s gorgeous golden pre-draped palazzo saree made us sit up and take notice! Bought from Qbik, Shahpur Jat, she sure does look like a dream in it, doesn’t she? Delhi based MUA, Esha Shukla took over the hair and makeup for each of Palki’s wedding looks.

The cocktail party was held at Amer Fort, Jaipur and while it is difficult to secure permissions for the venue, Palki sure got lucky with it! Just look at the images. *dreamy eyes*

The Wedding

‘I was sure from the beginning that I would not wear red or maroon on my wedding day. I wanted something more summer appropriate,’ shares the bride. Palki picked up this gorgeous mint and pink lehenga from a store in Jammu, her hometown. Interestingly, Akhilesh designed all his outfits himself.

An intimate ceremony with just 150 guests, the wedding truly was a memorable affair for the couple and their guests. And if that’s not enough, Palki and Akhilesh took off for a romantic honeymoon to Europe soon after. Check out the pictures here!

Also, the couple gifted customized cocktail stirrers and gift cards to their guests as wedding favours. Such an adorable idea!

We wish the couple lots of love and happiness in times to come!
