Is this all you have to say, Prime Minister Narendra Modi?

There are very few incidents that shake the foundations of our being. The rapes of two minors in Jammu and Kashmir and Uttar Pradesh would make it to the top of the list. In Kathua, eight people including a juvenile have been charge-sheeted for abducting, drugging, raping and murdering an eight-year-old girl. In Unnao, UP, a BJP MLA has been accused of raping a 17-year-old girl.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had been criticised for keeping mum about and through this whole ordeal be it by opposition party Congress or by the people of the nation. On Friday, after inaugurating the Ambedkar Memorial Hall in New Delhi, he said that justice will be served and such incidents can’t be a part of civilised society.

As a country, as a society, we all are ashamed of it,” PM Narendra Modi said after inaugurating the Ambedkar memorial in New Delhi. “I want to assure the country that no culprit will be spared, complete justice will be done. Our daughters will definitely get justice.

These statements were a part of his speech that he made at the memorial, honouring Babasaheb Ambedkar. His comments came the very same day when the Supreme Court took note of the attempt by a group of lawyers in Jammu to prevent J&K police from filing a charge sheet at a local court last week.

Forest Minister Chaudhary Lal Singh and Industries Minister Chander Prakash, both a part of BJP, had attended a rally to support the accused in the Kathua rape and murder case. This participation, of course, brewed up a storm. This just in, that they have submitted their resignations on Friday, to the party’s state president Sat Sharma.

For now, this is all the information we have on these cases.
