Weddings are all about the moments we share and the nostalgia we create. Over the years, we all have heard lovely stories of how our parents and grandparents got married. And that inspires us to have a simple but beautiful wedding just like them. After all, it all lies in the simplicity. Of late, nostalgia wedding is a big trend among millennial couples. One such couple is Natasha Kabra, who is a Bangalore-based wedding planner and her husband Anand Devaiah.
The couple wanted to recreate Natasha’s parents’ wedding. Right from the decor, to the food to their outfits, it was all inspired by it. Not only that, they even chose the same venue where her parents got married.
In an interview with a leading daily, this is what Natasha said about her wedding:
“Getting married at the same venue as my parents became a special moment for all of us. They relived their memories as I made new ones. It brought the family together.”

Interestingly, many wedding venues and banquets are receiving vintage-themed aka nostalgia-themed wedding requests these days. Brides wear their mother’s bridal lehengas and try to recreate the same poses as their mothers did on their wedding day. Couples are opting for wedding venues where their parents got married and sometimes, even the menu includes dishes from the parent’s weddings. We’ve even come across weddings where the bride and groom had their parents’ wedding photos displayed as part of the decor. Not just that, a lot of brides choose to honour their deceased family members by including their pictures in the decor or even as design elements in their lehenga.
Well, that’s some heavy dose of nostalgia, but it’s not like we’re complaining!
