Women are often dismissed when it comes to any kind of physical activity. They’re assumed to be tender and incapable of taking up tasks that require muscle strength, especially when compared to men. But here’s a bunch of Nagaland women in uniform shattering these insulting stereotypes.
An old video of the Nagaland women battalion has been going viral lately. It resurfaced when the MLA of Nagaland, Mmhonlumo Kikon, shared the video with the caption, “Naga women Battalion lifting a Mahindra Bolero from the side drain! An old video which needs to be seen by more people. @anandmahindra @manoj_naandi @KirenRijiju @AmitShah @smritiirani.”
In the video, a group of women from the Nagaland women battalion can be seen using their strength to help pull a Mahindra Bolero out of a ditch. From the way the women are yelling and motivating each other, it is evident just how much effort was required to successfully push the car out. Their excitement after they manage to do so is infectious.
The post caused a storm on Twitter after the chairman of the Mahindra Group, Anand Mahindra, who was tagged in the tweet, responded. Here’s what he wrote:
He’s a witty man indeed.
The thread received over 18K likes and a lot of appreciation from Tweeple. Check out what all they commented:
