Slaying It! Mouni Roy Just Gave Us A Massive ‘Naagin’ Déjà Vu As The Brahmāstra Villian

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor starrer, Brahmāstra, is one of the most anticipated movies of the year and we all have been waiting for an update about the film for a while now. Finally, the movie’s makers blessed our social media feeds with it’s first teaser and it is every bit exciting. The film also stars Mouni Roy, Nagarjuna and Dimple Kapadia and has been in the making for over five years now. The buzz has it that it’s being touted as Karan Johar’s most ambitious project ever.

In the 32-second video, it looks like all the characters are in a world with supernatural elements. Well, we can’t stop watching the clip on the loop. ‘Coz this is the first time we were introduced to the main antagonist of Brahmāstra–Mouni Roy as Damayanti Singhania. The actress shared the teaser of the film and wrote, “In just 100 days, BRAHMĀSTRA: Part One will be all yours But before that, don’t miss the Brahmāstra TRAILER on JUNE 15TH!!”

NGL, this is one of the most impressive teasers we have seen in a while and Mouni is surely killing it. The intense red hues and her fierce expression have made her the show-stealer! Netizens took to Twitter to talk about Mouni’s look in the film and compared it to her Naagin days. One Twitter user wrote, “Wait Mouni Roy is Naagin here? Again?! 😂 damn that girl patended supernatural indian role 😁 #Brahmastra”

Another one tweeted, “I’ll riot if Mouni Roy didn’t transform into a naagin in the climax”

Well, we think Mouni killed it as the OG Naagin and now she is all set to slay as Damayanti!

Believe it or not, Mouni’s role in the supernatural show Naagin actually helped her to score Damyanti’s character in Ayan Mukherji’s Brahmāstra. In an interview, the actress shared, “I am playing the main villain in the film. I am really looking forward to it. What is more liberating for me is playing different characters that challenge me. I was surprised initially that they wanted me to play the villain: Ayan Mukherji had seen something from Naagin and felt I could play the villain. So you never know what clicks with whom. As an actor you should be willing to experiment and be versatile otherwise you can’t learn and grow.”

We are beyond excited to see Mouni in such a fierce role! BRB, setting a reminder for Brahmastra’s trailer now.
