Not Botox Or Keratin, Malaika Does This To Reverse Hair Damage

Malaika Arora indulges in a wholesome, old-school champi over the weekend. The actress-cum-model does this because of the sheer amount of product that she uses on her hair; to undo all that damage naturally. Arora has been doing this for years, and she finally let us in on the ‘how’ and ‘what’ of the process. I’m talking about the actual hair mask recipe she swears by. You’ve got to see it for yourself.

How Malaika Preps Her Hair Mask

Malaika mixes equal amounts of coconut, olive, and castor oils with methi (seeds) and curry leaves. She recommends pouring the oils into a jar before adding the rest of the ingredients.

Why The Hair Mask Works

Malaika calls this fusion of coconut, olive, and castor oils the holy trinity for the hair. This is because all of them have such distinct benefits. While Coconut Oil primarily hydrates and moisturises the strands and adds a lustre to them, Castor Oil is said to accelerate the growth of the hair and reduce breakage. Olive Oil deeply conditions and nourishes for stronger, thicker strands that don’t break easily and even fights dandruff while at it. These oils do this while treating split ends, dryness, and lice.

According to Malaika, curry leaves are a rich source of beta-carotene and proteins. This can reduce breakage and increase growth. Apart from this, they can even prevent your hair from greying prematurely, fight dandruff, settle frizz and flyaways, and repair damage from heat, pollution, sunlight, and more.

Methi, aka fenugreek, seeds soothe inflammation, itchiness, and pain in the scalp. It can even fight dandruff and other scalp-related conditions. It contains a compound called lecithin; which is a natural emollient and moisturises the scalp while softening the strands.

How Malaika Applies It

Simply massage the mask into your hair in circular motions before leaving it on for 45 to 60 minutes. That should do the trick according to her.

That’s how simple it truly is!
