Bye, Bye, Yuvi: Indian Player Yuvraj Singh Announces Retirement From International Cricket

Ace Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh retired from international cricket with immediate effect. Yuvi, who gave 19 years of his life to cricket has now decided to move on. This means he will no longer be seen playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

On his retirement, he said, “It was a love-hate relationship with this game. I can’t explain what it really means to me. This game taught me how to fight, how to fall, to dust myself off and get up again and move forward. I have failed more times than I have succeeded, but I never gave up, and will never give up, till my last breath, and that’s what cricket has taught me. I gave my blood and sweat to the game once I got on to it, especially when it came to representing my country.”

In his cricketing career, he played 40 Tests, 304 ODIs and 58 T20 Internationals for India from 2003 to 2017.

He will forever be remembered for his six sixes against England in Durban during the first-ever World T20. He batted phenomenally and made 36 runs in bowler Stuart Broad’s over.

Let’s watch that again.

Unbeatable, isn’t he?

Yuvraj is the only cricketer in the world who has played under 15, under 19, T-20 and Overs 50 World Cup and won all of them. And interestingly, he became Man of the series in all of them.

Yuvraj Singh would forever be remembered for his breathtaking performance in India’s second World Cup triumph at home.

In 2011, Yuvraj was diagnosed with a cancerous tumour in his left lung and underwent chemotherapy treatment in Boston and Indianapolis.

The cricketer survived cancer and emerged victoriously.

Today, on his retirement the internet is reminiscing his unparalleled cricketing style with some memes. Check out what the netizens have to say!
