#ShahidKiShaadi: Here’s EVERYTHING You Need To Know!

Somya Abrol  |  May 5, 2016

We liked him the moment we set our eyes on him in Ishq Vishk (2003) – that is, in case you missed him wrap a sheet-like cloth around Aishwarya Rai in Taal (could you even spot that?!) – and fell in love with him all over again when the actor redefined himself in Vishal Bharadwaj’s Haider. And though our beloved heartthrob Shahid Kapoor has already tied the knot in an intimate day ceremony with beau Mira Rajput (why, God, why?!), with only close friends and family in attendance, the celebrations are all set to take place tonight (July 7) in Delhi. Keeping up with life, as we must, we bring you EVERYTHING you need to know about Shahid and Mira’s wedding. Don’t resist the urge – you know you want to know!

1. Start With The Invites, Shall We?

The white and turquoise wedding card, replete with four little glass bottles of honey, became quite a rage over the Internet last week. If our wedding card looked as great as that, we’d be more than happy to flaunt it too! And since the stars must have nothing but the best, the card was designed by wedding designer Ravish Kapoor.

2. The After-Party Venue

While the wedding celebration was a subtle affair, an after-party for the couple, and 500 guests, has been planned at The Oberoi, New Delhi. Reportedly, the Presidential Suite at The Oberoi has been booked for the couple – it’s a luxury two-bedroom residence, spread across 5,300 sq ft, features an Italian marble fireplace AND a dining room, a study, a pantry, a gym-cum-yoga room and an outdoor pool (according to the official website of The Oberoi). If sources are to be believed, the suite costs a whopping Rs 6,00,000 (plus taxes) per night!

A reception has been scheduled in Mumbai for July 12.

3. That Extra Bit Of Sweetness!

Customized weddings only beckon customised sweetmeats – hey, calories, in style! So, the couple got made-to-order chocolates from Smitten Bakery (Asiad Village, New Delhi) in two flavours: Almond, Currant and Sea Salt, and Pumpkin Seeds and Candied Chilli.

4. Dressed To Dazzle

While the actor himself looked suave in designs by designer and friend Kunal Rawat, beau Mira Rajput adorned a design by Anamika Khanna. Dishing out some details about the bride’s wedding attire, the fashion designer told indiatoday.in: “The wedding outfit is truly special. In softer shades of pink, derived from old European historical references, it is delicate and elegant, at the same time powerful with its presence. It’s a purely traditional outfit, except for the colour play.” What’s more, Khanna happened to design an outfit for Mira’s mom too! For the Sangeet ceremony of the couple (held on July 6), the bride flaunted a yellow and soft-pink lehenga by Anita Dongre.

5. The Sangeet Celebrations

A beautiful prelude to the wedding, the Sangeet celebrations broke the Internet last night (July 6)! While Mira looked radiant in her Anita Dongre outfit, Shahid sported an elegant red kurta and maroon Nehru jacket, and danced with his bride-to-be like no one’s watching!

6. …And Here’s The First Look At The Newly Wedded Couple

Now officially Mrs and Mr Kapoor, the duo couldn’t look more adorable! 🙂
